A holistic approach to hormonal health and wellbeing, discover the tools to navigate with confidence and ease integrating emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. Preventive care extends beyond merely avoiding illness; it's about fostering overall health and creating an environment where women can thrive. Whether it's perimenopause or menopause, PCOS, endometriosis, thyroid or adrenal issues, amenorrhea, or other hormone-related issues, there is a lot to navigate.
For women, it can be particularly empowering to embrace a holistic approach to hormonal changes, stress management, and reproductive health - where you learn to work with your body to find balance. Women face unique health challenges for long-term sustainable health with our own special set of healthcare needs that are unique to us. Hormonal treatments typically involve medications that directly alter hormone levels.
These approaches aim to manage symptoms of hormone imbalances, like oestrogen dominance, menopause, or irregular menstrual cycles, but they don’t always address the root cause or imbalance. The mind-body connection is such an important aspect of women’s health. I use a whole-person approach to balancing hormone levels naturally over time.
Sleep disruptions and other physical changes during menopause can worsen cognition, concentration and planning or executive functioning. Symptoms can become even more intense than before with changes in hormones such as perimenopause and menopause. Puberty, pregnancy and lactation are also times when our bodies go through significant hormonal changes in reproductive or sex hormones which can lead to dysregulation. Post-natal depression could be seen through a cascade of hormonal load.
Stress management is essential to hormonal health, so any holistic approach to women’s health considers the impacts of stress on existing symptoms and health conditions. When stressed, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol, which disrupts hormonal balance. This can trigger weight gain, weaken your immune system, mess with your sleep, and increase your risk of developing chronic conditions.
